Review: (#1) Reminiscent of the poster designs for the original film, it doesn’t have quite the demanding visual splendor one would expect from a Disney film.

(#2) This is a richly detailed design that conjures the most positive thoughts of Disney and its crack design team. (#3) Less rich in detail, but still a suitable design for this film. (#4-#6) This triptych when combined creates a seamless poster that fully envelops the viewer in the compelling Rudyard Kipling universe as envisioned by Disney. (#7-#13) These character may lack intense detail, but they make up for that with visually striking color balance and spatial flow.

Trailer Rating: B+

Review: A tantalizingly teasing teaser lends voice to only one character simply so that Scarlett Johansson can give the audience chills. It works well, though there are too many small hints that it’s little more than a big budget adventure flick with minimal emotional relevance.

Oscar Prospects:

It could be a contender for Best Visual Effects, but I can’t really envision it competing anywhere else at present.
