Review: A real poster putting Keira Knightley full front. It’s worth a try, but the period costumes aren’t likely to pull in the audience that would see Knightley in bigger budget fare. Case in point is her appearance in Pride & Prjeudice, which managed very little in terms of box office success.
This year’s placeholder posters will apparently now be in the form of a still image from the film with a siple white title in a black box. Slightly improved, but still not very interesting.
Trailer Rating: B-
Review: I’m not exactly sure what the film’s about, but it’s stunning to look at. Keira Knightley shows how much she loves being in costume dramas, marking her third such venture in recent years. Whether it’s any good remains to be seen along with a more revelatory trailer.
Oscar Prospects:
A lot depends on how it fares with critics. It looks gorgeous and it’s already got a publicity-hungry production company, Paramount/Vantage. Now all it needs to do is convince critics it’s a masterpiece.
