Review: The subject seems intriguing, violent criminals finding peace within themselves through Buddhism, one of the world’s few open and accepting religions that doesn’t force itself on the public. That these prisoners are being chastised by an overzealous religious community suggests it may be as spiritual in its defeat of those groups as it is in the enlightenment of its subjects.

Oscar Prospects:

This could be the right blend of religion and controversy that the Academy can stand up and recognize. It will need significant critical support, but it could be a hit with Oscar voters.
