Review: (#1) Having such a bland background for an animated film doesn’t boost its obvious connection to the famed drawing of the evolution of man.
(#2) A much more colorful design than the previous with quite a few details, but all of which aren’t all that interesting in tandem.

Review: It takes too long to get into the meat of the premise and by then, it feels like a derivative on the original with some new paint added for extra measure. That said, there’s something still quite charming about some parts of it, so it could be popular, perhaps more popular than the original.
Oscar Prospects:
The first film didn’t manage to secure an Oscar nomination, so its follow up won’t likely, either, but depending on the competition, the Academy might not have many other choices.
