Review: (#1, C+) The softness of the background color palette allows the solid colors in the foreground to pop. It’s a simplistic foreground image and while it does tap into the premise somewhat well, the end result feels a bit static. (#2, C-) This unnecessarily chaotic orgy of colors is hard to parse visually and thus too distracting.

Review: (#1, C+) This convoluted anime wants the viewer to find excitement in the visually appealing animation on display. The premise initially sounds good but as the film progresses, it becomes more confused and difficult to understand what’s going on. By the end, there’s little of interest to those who aren’t in it for the animation style alone.

Oscar Prospects:

While it did get one citation from critics, the film is facing too-stiff competition.
