Review: The poster just sits there. There’s nothing eye-catching or interesting and that could be thanks to the fact that it’s almost entirely white with a perwinkle blue uniforms acting as the only focal point. It’s hardly notable.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: Avoiding attempts at broad comedy, The Band’s Visit looks like a quietly subversive pic featuring fish-out-of-water humor that doesn’t feel forced like most American features.

Oscar Prospects:

Disqualified by the Foreign Language Film committee for containing too much English, The Band’s Visit, a huge winner at the Isreali Academy Awards, won’t find release until 2008 and is unlikely to be remembered come Oscar time.
