Release Date:
November 28, 2014
Synopsis:
From IMDb: “A single mother, plagued by the violent death of her husband, battles with her son’s fear of a monster lurking in the house, but soon discovers a sinister presence all around her.”
Poster: B- / C+
Review: (#1 & #2) Apart from the larger central design and the mother-son inset, these two posters are identical. That inset and size change does make for an overall better decision, but one which won’t have as much impact as it should. I do thank the designers for avoiding the cliched dingy designs of other modern horror films.
Trailer: B
Review: Having heard that this film is more frightening than a lot of what’s out there in terms of horror, I’m a bit disappointed that the trailer isn’t as scary. That could be because they aren’t concerned about goosing up the terror level to match those other films, but a little excitement could help sell the film better.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
