Review: (#1) Somewhat nice coloring doesn’t make up for the lack of visual splendor or even panache, and the critics’ plaudits aren’t notable enough. (#2) The colors are more muted, though it at least feels a little more sentient in terms of how it approaches the story and its plot. That doesn’t make it a viable design, but it makes it better than the other.

Review: There’s a compelling story here, but the trailer struggles to bring that out in a meaningful and significant way. For a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar nominee, the reason it was nominated isn’t very evidently displayed.
Oscar Prospects:
Nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar last year, it is ineligible this year.
