Synopsis:
From IMDb: “”Styx” depicts the transformation of a strong woman torn from her contented world during a sailing trip. When she becomes the only person to come to the aid of a group of refugees shipwrecked on the high seas, she is shown the limits of her importance and of the empathy of her cultural milieu. She is left slipping impotently from one nightmare to the next, and by the end she is forced to recognize that there is no way to counter the cruelties of real life. Only chance can save her.”

Review: (#1) It makes little sense to take the vastness of the ocean and cut it into pieces and slice it back together again. There’s no artistic merit to this design. (#2) Anytime a vast ocean plays a role in a film, the designers make a poster just like this with little of interest to it. (#3) A woman on a boat. You could get that impression if you’ve seen the trailer, but does it do much good whether you have or not? Not with something this uninteresting.

Review: The title doesn’t make sense. The trailer ratchets up the tension, though, and makes for an interesting narrative that might appeal to a small audience.
