Review: (#1-#4) This series of “character” posters, while interesting behind-the-scenes snippets, don’t ultimately give the viewer much to be inspired by.

(#5) This poster does a decent amount of its own heavy lifting, conveying the existence of dance routines in the film. However, the colors aren’t impressive and the lack of compelling details don’t make for much of an effort.

Trailer Rating: C+ / B

Review: (#1) There’s a weak level of humor in this trailer. Reynolds seems stuck in his element without finding a way to stand out. The reimagining of the Christmas Carol concept isn’t well handled.

(#2) The first trailer didn’t do the best job conveying the story and characters. It seemed interested mostly in the humor. This one dials that back just enough to allow the musical and dancing elements to shine through, giving the audience a much better understanding of the film’s purpose and its lack of self-seriousness.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
