Review: (#1) The Hang 10 gesture is only barely obvious as you can’t really tell that he’s on any type of surfboard-like device. That mutes its impact quite a bit when everything else is just of unnecessary debris. (#2) While there’s plenty of detail in this design, the balance feels off with no discernible pattern. It’s still more visually diverse than the prior effort.

(#3) Cheaply ridiculous. (#4) Lots of effects, very little content. Unimpressive. (#5) A decent use of colors and background details, but nothing else of import. (#6) There are quite a few elements here, but not enough to overcome the lack of details. (#7-#10) A rather uninspired set of character posters that don’t touch on enough of the characters.

Trailer Rating: C+ / C

Review: (#1) While there was a certain childish excess to the first film’s trailer, this trailer wants to get as much of the plot out there before the viewers as it can while making absolutely none of it look enticing.

(#2) This chaotic second trailer builds on the first trailer, hoping audiences know what’s going on and providing little else to entice them. That makes the effort a bit ham-fisted. Sure, it has lots of action, which might appeal to some, but without the story, it looks rather hollow.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
