Review: (#1) The background is dull and too out of focus. While the mother and daughter have a striking relationship, it’s not an overall interesting design with the titling feeling a bit too soft against such a backdrop. (#2) Bringing the relationship to the forefront and softening the figures with a warm glow rather than a cool one, this design is a bit more compelling, but still not very detailed, which may cause it to struggle to stand out.
Trailer Rating: C+

Review: IT’s a slow trailer of interpersonal drama that wants the audience to feel the burden of trying to fit into two worlds, one’s native and one’s adoptive. It doesn’t quite find a way to make this struggle feel accessible or interactable, which will hinder its chances for success.
Oscar Prospects:
Submitted by Australia for the International Feature Oscar, the premise doesn’t seem promising for Oscar consideration.
