Release Date:
March 13, 2015
Synopsis:
From IMDb: “An aging hitman is forced to take on his brutal former boss to protect his estranged son and his family.”
Poster: B- / C- (4)
Review: (#1) The superimposition is a nice effect, one that’s not nearly as frequent as one would think. It’s not such a striking design that it makes you want to hang it on your wall, but it’s a decent one. (#2-#5) The indistinct backgrounds make these character posters feel lifeless and void with the individuals depicted barely registering as real people.
Trailer: B-
Review: The film looks like a cross between A History of Violence and Taken with none of the significance or originality necessary to pull off such a comparison. Liam Neeson has gotten into a single mode of acting and is unrelenting in his pursuit of such roles, which is unfortunate considering the talent he showcased back in the 1990’s.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
Revisions:
(January 18, 2015) Original
(March 8, 2015) New Posters (#1-#5) / Updated Release Date (changed from 4/17/15)
