Review: (#1-#3) Most action thrillers these days skimp on the production costs when it comes to poster design. Instead of trying to be creative, they steal heavily from past designs, put the minimal effort into visual style and then slap it on a wall and hope cinemagoers give a shit enough to stop and see their movie. As these show, that’s not a very good possibility.
Trailer: C+
Review: Nicolas Cage can do this type of role in his sleep and that’s certainly what the trailer suggests is going on. Cage plays a man whose lost nearly everything and embarks on a journey to save what little he has left. Yet, in the end, there’s nothing new or inventive about the narrative details and that comes through fairly obviously in the trailer.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
