Poster Rating: A

Review: What an imaginative and interesting poster. The subtlety of it is the perfect companion to the title of the film and its premise.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: While the concept seems interesting, the execution in the trailer just doesn’t give one hope. A nagging suspicion in the back of my mind as I watch this is that we’re just going to be treated to another rehash of Memento style editing and plotting while being left with a hollow feeling.

Oscar Prospects:

It could be a contender, it could not. Failure at the box office won’t make it a very appealing choice and since it’s a wholesale thriller, that won’t help either. Sandra Bullock’s bubbling under and with more performances like this, we could see her on Oscar nomination among the nominees in the near future…just not for this film.

Synopsis:

I was far more impressed with this film than my contemporaries. I found the continuity of the film was nearly flawlessly executed and if it weren’t for the scene with the preacher and the failure to address what happened after the seventh day and the final scene worries me. Sandra Bullock is great in those quiet scenes where she has to deal with the first time she’s heard her husband’s dead and a bit over-the-top elsewhere.
