Review: If you’re familiar with the long-running franchise, many of the images here are well known and even compelling. The vast amount of black space doesn’t add much to the affair, but it’s elder quality helps give it a boost with fans.

Review: The effects look atrocious. Being long removed from its predecessors (the most recent in 1998) and especially the 1979 original, it would be expected that better effects be a part of the production, but keeping itself tonally and visually connected to the prior incarnations may be purposeful, but it won’t garner support from a new audience.
