From IMDb: “The true story of Paul Potts, a shy, bullied shop assistant by day and an amateur opera singer by night who became a phenomenon after being chosen for — and ultimately winning — “Britain’s Got Talent.”
Poster: C / D / C- / C / C+
Review: (#1-#5) This is a wholly unremarkable batch of posters. The first and fourth are nearly identical, the latter being produced for a foreign market and removing the miner picture. The second is bland and lacks importance while the third doesn’t do much better and feels too photoshopped to be realistic. The fifth design is probably the best of them all, putting the audience in a gondola, but betraying how much time will actually be spent in Italy.

Review: It’s an unusual subject for a comedy, an opera singer wanting to become a hit after years of being treated poorly by others. The entire film seems to be on display here, which won’t help entice audiences to the theater. We already suspect what will happen and it’s not interesting enough to capture our attention.
Oscar Prospects:
While the film won’t be a real contender, its original song is sure to be in the conversation.
