Review: (#1) This split character image fits the premise, but doesn’t look appealing. (#2) It’s a cheesy, ham fisted approach with the echo location meant to create dynamic energy, but ultimately making it look cheaper. The characters aren’t given much to do and the background details aren’t very interesting.
(#3-#6) This series of drawn posters, all of which are trying to sell the type of sound/image format, are interesting enough to look at, but ultimately forgettable.
Trailer Rating: C / C

Review: (#1) It’s difficult to fathom how a trailer could make a comic book adaptation look dull and unimpressive, but the creators of this trailer succeeded. While going into detail about who Dr. Morbius is and how he became what he was gives the audience little expectation for surprises in watching the film, which will ultimately depress interest.
(#2) The purpose of a trailer is to encourage attendance, but this one only regurgitates some elements, the ones that don’t work well, from the original, and force-feeds them with new images that don’t make the film look any more appealing. It’s such a strange effort that never once entices a casual viewer into its designs.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
