Review: It’s not the most original or compelling design, but it works for what it is: a female-oriented movie about friendship.

Review: The trailer makes the film look like a touching story of two longtime friends sharing tragedy for one while finding happiness for the other. Collette and Barrymore look quite good and the film taps into all the right emotional elements.
Oscar Prospects:
Could this be a dark horse contender for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress? It could be, but early reviews aren’t giving the film much attention. Toni Collette is a prior Oscar nominee playing a woman dying of cancer, which is pretty Oscar baity. Drew Barrymore plays her best friend who doesn’t want to hurt her when she discovers she’s pregnant. Barrymore hasn’t been nominated yet, but perhaps it’s only a matter of time. However, I’m doubtful that this will be the film to give either of them an Oscar nomination this year.
