Review: (#1) Placing the leads against the backdrops of one of Maude’s paintings is a solid stroke of inspiration, even if the whole is terribly bland. (#2) Taking the exact same figures from the first poster and superimposing them on the location doesn’t work very well. (#3) A split-screen motif that tries to be inventive in its usage of the technique, but looks horrendously garish in the ultimate structure and layout.
Trailer Rating: C+

Review: Apart form Sally Hawkins’ solid performance in the trailer, this hackneyed drama looks like a generic retread combining My Left Foot and Big Eyes.
Oscar Prospects:
Sally Hawkins could be in for an Oscar nomination if the studio gives her a push. The June release won’t give her much support.
