Review: The severe lack of color only hurts this poster. The pink of Nicole Kidman’s hat duplicated in the title is a good touch to assign her character that name, but it’s hard to even tell it’s Kidman with this. You can also only barely tell that co-stars Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jack Black are in the poster.
Trailer Rating: C
Review: It’s hard to imagine that the first follow-up to a debut writer’s work could feel so unimpressive, but Noah Baumbach hasn’t given us any indication that this film will be very good. The scenes in the trailer are relatively lacking in humor and the performances don’t seem all that good.
Oscar Prospects:
Some attention will be given to the film prior to its October opening because of Baumbach’s Squid and the Whale. However, unless critics embrace the film, I don’t expect much out of it. Kidman might get another nomination for this film, but I can’t imagine Black or Jason Leigh getting mentions.
