Review: (#1) There’s something almost hypnotic about this overly generic pose. It definitely establishes look and character, but it also doesn’t do much else.

(#2) Not sure how this in-your-face image of a sleepy-eyed Javier Bardem as Pablo Escobar is going to sell the film, but that’s where we’re at. (#3) If Escobar could have printed money with his face on it, he would have, which makes this a fairly succinct expression of his personality even if it’s not terribly exciting.

This looks like it could be a major Oscar player with its stars Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz being sure contenders for acting accolades.
