Review: (#1) It doesn’t showcase the cast, except by name, but presenting a cute dog and a downed Christmas tree may be all you need to sell the audience. (#2) This is a little more familiar with a cheesy tagline to boot. Having the actors’ images on the design might help, but it also feels like it’s trying too hard to be clever.
(#3) A full family design is perfectly adequate, but otherwise nothing special. The dull, blank white background is still present and there’s nothing particularly engaging about the poses or extraneous composition.
Trailer Rating: B- / C+

Review: (#1 & #2) The two trailers are almost identical. The chief difference is that the second trailer entirely removes the Marisa Tomei klepto sublot, which somewhat injures the film, even if it makes the trailer feel less cluttered. The second trailer doesn’t have more humor or hijinx, which might not be the right direction a film like this needs to move. However, adding the more guttural “dick” to the second trailer at least improves that section of the trailer and makes it seem a touch funnier.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
