Review: (#1, C) An attempt was made to do something interesting, using the candy hearts in a sense that is not usual. Unfortunately, it feels surprisingly tacky instead. (#2, C) Similar to the prior design, the effort to executed something daring and intriguing has failed with that white background even more overwhelming than in the prior design. (#3, C+) This is definitely a better attempt to use the candy hearts coated in blood motif without feeling oppressive. Still, they are so dully arrayed that although it’s clear they are falling like rain, they are obviously and unnecessarily disconnected from the rest of the design.

(#4, C+) It’s the same as the prior, giving both leads character posters but it suffers from the same issues.

Review: (#1, C) The idea is purely a waste of celluloid but surprisingly, some of the action and situations in the trailer suggest some promise. This is probably one of those films that wants to think its star (Ke Huy Quan) will get butts in the seat but will ultimately result in an unimpressive result.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
