Review: Further typifing the film’s struggle to pick sides, the Lake of Fire title, being inverted (and in the preview inverted across an image of the cross) may be symbolic of where the piece leans. It could lean left and suggest that “the false prophet” as mentioned in Revelations is what is leading people to murder in the name of the Lord. It could lean right and suggest that those whose names aren’t in the “book of life” are cast into the lake of fire. This film could be far more interesting than we at first believe once we take this symbolism into account.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: This is the kind of documentary that sparks criticism from both sides. Whether it’s pro- or anti-abortion rights is unclear. It may be neither but the trailer is certainly politically charged and features a few disturbing images that might make for an interesting examination.

Oscar Prospects:

If this is as unbiased as it might appear, the docu branch may nominate the film, but without leaning one way or another, it’s unlikely to pick up an Oscar win.
