Review: (#1, C+) The point of putting the lobster in color and the rest of the design in black-and-white is an ill-chosen premise. It doesn’t speak well to the film’s premise, at least without having seen the film first. And since posters are designed to advertise, it’s imperative they give the viewer something more than this design does. (#2, C) Worse still is this overbearing, salmon-colored effort that sticks with the black-and-white concept which makes it feel very cheaply produced, the worst of which is the receipts as dressing.

Review: (#1, C) There’s an oddness to this immigrant drama that makes it feel like it wants to paint the impoverished lead character as a potential victim of someone else’s malfeasance but it never gives the audience a chance to identify with that position and instead makes it seem like they should be glad to watch this movie for the importance of it all rather than for an interest in the subject matter.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
