Synopsis:

From IMDb: “A murder in 1944 draws together the great poets of the beat generation: Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.”

Review: The yellow motif has slacked off a bit in recent months, but it still feels like an oversimplified attempt to make the design look relevant. And considering the dark subject matter, I can’t imagine what possessed them to tint this way.

Review: It’s an original idea and the trailer doesn’t make it look half bad, but this preview is a bit disjointed at times and doesn’t draw the audience in the way it would need to. It’s a fine attempt, but nothing spectacular.

Oscar Prospects:

There was a time when this film was high on prognosticators shortlists of potential Oscar nominees. However, it’s been making the rounds of the festival circuit and has built up little to no buzz. It’s probably time to mark through this title on your list of year-end expectations.
