Synopsis:
From IMDb: “A documentary that follows jazz legend Clark Terry over four years to document the mentorship between Terry and 23-year-old blind piano prodigy Justin Kauflin as the young man prepares to compete in an elite, international competition.”
Poster: B / B
Review: Two distinctive designs that share common elements. The image of a blind man and his dog walking along the sidewalk in one and piano keys in the other while a jazz trumpeter stands watch. Both are uniquely inspired in spite of the similar imagery.
Trailer: C
Review: It seems like an atypical jazz documentary about a well known musician and his aspiring student. The structure of the trailer isn’t particularly fluid and the film seems like it’s bogged down in self-reverence, but it could be better than this suggests.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
