Synopsis:
From IMDb: “The story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic 1960s rock group The Four Seasons.”
Poster: B-
Review: A simple poster design that hides a complex story. That could be an interpretation, but more likely, it’s showing a quartet of street guys becoming successes (hence the streetlight acts as a stage spotlight.
Trailer: B+
Review: An unraveling narrative about the success and frailties of success experienced by the legendary quartet The Four Seasons and their lead singer Frankie Valli. The trailer gives the audience almost exactly what it needs to know what kind of movie they are in for.
Oscar Prospects:
Clint Eastwood is a director of some repute and every film he makes is an Oscar contender. This biopic musical should be more in line with Academy tastes than his last film, so I could see it garnering a handful of nominations.
