Synopsis:
From IMDb: “86-year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companion: his 8 year-old grandson, Billy.”
Poster: B- (3)
Review: The three posters together represent an astute marketing effort that focuses on the film’s central premise, that of a bad grandpa. They catch the eye, but don’t fully draw the viewer in.
Trailer: B
Review: I’ve not seen a single one of the Jackass films and have never had any desire to. Their focus on idiots doing stupid stunts for fun is jettisoned for their first theme in this cross-country spectacle that seeks to obtain natural reactions from real people. Some of the stunts on display in the trailer are completely hysterical, but it makes one wonder if there’s much more or much better in the film.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
