Review: (#1) While there’s a sense of impending doom to this design, there’s a lot of blank space to it, which makes it feel limited. (#2) There’s more detail, but the construction is problematic and too familiar. It’s also not particularly frightening.
(#3) Saying simply “Don’t go out at night,” this design embodies the film’s premise without being particularly exciting.
Trailer Rating: C- / B- / B+

Review: (#1) The first trailer is a most confusing affair that makes for a dense horror film, but one without a rooting interesting or a sense of place and setting.
(#2) The second trailer gives us the details of the events, but not enough of them to ruin the premise. There are plenty of interesting aesthetic choices, which could make for a compelling picture if they actually come together in the end.
(#3) Sometimes, a film needs to find a way to stand out and a generic trailer won’t do it. This trailer, which has some generic elements, goes out of its way to try and be different, using split screens, insets, and other methods of creative placement, the poetic interjections heighten a sense of creativity in the film. It’s a most fascinating and almost elegant effort.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
