Review: (#1) This is sufficiently creepy, though lacks sufficient detail at the edges.
(#2) Generally, this is a solid design; however, there’s a lot of useless space in it, which may focus the eyes in on the central, foggy image, it makes for a poor overall poster. Maybe a banner on the theater wall would have been a better choice for this.
Trailer Rating: B- / D / C

Review: (#1) Some images from the original novel and miniseries are on display in this trailer and there’s just enough intrigue to sell it to those unfamiliar with either of those; however, the trailer doesn’t convey anything more than conventional horror theatrics.
(#2) It seems like the producers have decided to make their new trailer more of a scene-grab, giving us a single segment from the film, which creates absolutely no dread. The whole film looks patently unappealing as a result.
(#3) Attempting to make this look less like a coming-of-age story and more like a cheaply theatrical horror film might give the audience a modest desire to see it, but it will also give fans of the book a bit of a pause.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
