Review: (#1-#5) As a series of character posters, these are exceptionally dull with a bland backdrop that makes them look like they were taken at Olan Mills rather than by a serious photographer. (#6) For some this simple listing of actors would be enough, but there’s no artistic inventiveness here, just cheaply produced pointlessness.
(#7) The designs for this film have all tried to keep a visual theme to them, that of matching the color palette to the background. In some cases, like this one, it doesn’t particularly work. (#8-#12) in these character posters, the backgrounds do work, which is a blessing even if the end result isn’t particularly detailed. (#13) A departure from the prior attempts for symbiosis, this change to the background conceit looks out of place. (#14) A little more flash of color and, were the prior designs more thematically inspired, I might suspsect that Patrizia’s red outfit was symbolism for blood while the green background was symbolic of money. Yet, that might be reading too much into it.

Review: (#1) The intrigue in the trailer is palpable, but what really sets it apart is the use of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.” It’s brilliantly executed, woven into the other music in the trailer to add a feeling of energy and excitement.
(#2) Not as well made as the first trailer, this second one uses another ’80s track to accentuate the action, this time The Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams,” playing on the opening line by Lady Gaga about Gucci always meaning sweet to her. From there, we get a lot of the same information from the first trailer with a few more obvious hints to the assassination plot that makes this soap opera-style drama compelling.
Oscar Prospects:
This is one of the year’s potential major players. Ridley Scott directing an array of Oscar-nominated and Oscar-winning actors always has potential and the film promises to be heavily drama laden, which should help in terms of popularity.
