Review: (#1) Guns forming the pillars of a common middle eastern style archway is an interesting design choice. It’s surrounded by an overall interesting design aesthetic even if the colors aren’t stellar. (#2) It may not exactly be subtle, but a look at a room with some elegance shot up gives a superb idea of what the film’s about. (#3) Putting the actors into the letters is a time-honored design choice, but the surrounding poster isn’t nearly as interesting as a gimmick like this would need to succeed. (#4) Another not-uncommon design where a gun takes on the guise of a cityscape on its back, which is an interesting design choice, though the background and the character inset pictures aren’t helping. (#5) The Hotel Mumbai about to be beset by gun-wielding terrorists. It would be an interesting design choice if it weren’t blurry and done in colors that are both washed out and uninteresting.

Review: It’s a concept that we’ve seen done in various ways throughout the years, but this trailer manages to make it all seem fresh and it’s not just the setting or situation. The cast alone makes the film look a lot more compelling than it might otherwise have looked.
Oscar Prospects:
Based on a true story, this has all the markings of an Oscar contender. The problem is Oscar contenders, especially films like this, don’t release in March.
