Review: (#1, C) Putting the various personae of Glen Powell’s fake hitman is an interesting concept but the background color scheme is as dull as it comes.
(#2, C) Without the yellow background blinding the audience, perhaps the sunglasses aren’t necessary. Glen Powell fans will likely be intrigued but the poster itself does nothing otherwise. (#3, C) This is where thee yellow background overwhelms. There is the brown side, which allows everything to blend with his leatherjacket but it doesn’t tell the audience much of anything.
Trailer Rating: C / C+

Review: (#1, C) This comedy doesn’t have a lot of comedic elements to it even if it is a dark comedy. You may get the vague notion that the central figure is a hit man but only because the title tells you that information not because the trailer gives you any of that information. It’s a rather dull effort.
(#2, C+) With a little more information about the film’s premise, it devolves pretty quickly into a rote exploration of the film’s characters without making any of them interesting.
Oscar Prospects:
Richard Linklater is a name you should always look out for in terms of Oscar potential. That said, his films are an acquired taste, especially his comedies, so I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for this film’s success at the Oscars.
