Synopsis:

From IMDb: “A psychiatrist searches the globe to find the secret of happiness.”

Poster: C+ / C+ / C (2) / C

Review: (#1 & #2) The first design is duplicated in the second with additional images added. These images don’t add much, but they also don’t take away from the overall aesthetic. There aren’t enough details and the yellow background may be reminiscent of the commonly seen smiley-face image, but it’s a minor, grating element. (#3 & #4) I don’t know if someone suggested that the first poster had the plane doing too many tight circles around our protagonists, but like the first two posters, there’s nothing particularly engaging or effective about either. (#5) This is a bit more energetic than the first two and establishes the character’s globe-trotting perspective, but the German design has a background that feels out of place.

Trailer: B

Review: The concept is clever, but I can’t help watching this trailer and thinking of the disastrous Secret Life of Walter Mitty. While the two are certainly differing in premise, the concept is similar enough to create brand confusion. Add to that the fact that Simon Pegg hasn’t done very much worth while outside of the Cornetto trilogy and you have a film that doesn’t seem like it will entirely live up to expections, though it might be modestly funny anyway.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
