Review: (#1, C-) The eponymous purple crayon is given a rather boring design that is heavy on the purple a pathetically low on the creativity. (#2, C+) The purple makes its appearance, which is good but this looks a bit too generic to feel exciting or enticing.
(#3, C+) While it might thematically fit the film, it’s a hodge-podge of mediocre creations that are poorly connected and weakly arrayed.
(#4, C) Bad lighting effects, cheaply cobbled together figures and a shockingly unappealing use of color.
Trailer Rating: C / C

Review: (#1, C) A dull, purposeless trailer that does nothing to create excitement for the film. The kids’ book was popular once but it’s not likely this effort will make parents who were fans all that excited.
(#2, C) The first trailer didn’t really give the plot away and this one does but the strange part of both is that the same humor from the first is shoehorned into the second and almost none of it rings true or genuinely funny.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
