Review: Attempting to conjure in the minds of viewers the image of Hannibal from Silence of the Lambs may backfire as any image like this would be ill-suited to a film about Lecter’s past.
Because of that ill-suited connection to the new film, the poster fails considerably.

Trailer Rating: A-; B

Review: As a fan of The Silence of the Lambs, the teaser is gripping and makes you want to know and see more.; The teaser is good, but the trailer reminds me of the one for the film Hannibal. It was interesting enough to pull me into the theater to watch it but suggests the film won’t be terribly good.

Oscar Prospects:

As with the other two films about Hannibal Lecter in the years since Silence won Best Picture, this film is unlikely to impress voters or encourage Oscar nominations.
