Review: The idea of a mobster walking through a pool of blood is an interesting one, but that’s not how this design has come across. With the overarching red coloration of everything including lettering and individual figures, it becomes overbearing rather than revealing.

Review: There was a point in the 1970s and 1990s where mob movies were all the rage and their trailers looked almost exactly like this film’s design. Yet, something about this feels secondary, unimpressive by comparison.

Oscar Prospects:

Were this still the 1990s, this might be a prime Oscar contender. The Academy was, at that point, in love with mob movies and they recognized them with regularity. However, now, it doesn’t seem like they care much about them. That this hasn’t seen the festival circuit or gotten much of a push elsewise, I suspect that it’s ultimately going to be ignored.
