Review: (#1) Taking us back to the days of 60’s and 70’s melodramas, this design feels original and that makes a difference. (#2) Yet, you can’t have a design that tries something different from other recent release without a hopelessly generic one. That’s what you have with the second design.

Trailer: B- / B

Review: (#1) One of the biggest complaints I had about the Into the Woods trailer is that for a musical to succeed, music must be a key element to the trailer. This film knows precisely what that means. It samples only one song, but it puts all of the film’s premise behind it, which gives the film a sense of life and passion, which can’t help but have some lasting appeal with the younger crowds.

(#2) The music is one of the key reasons the film might be fun to watch. The plot still seems a bit vague and predictable, but there’s a clear joy of life in the trailer that makes it appealing.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
