Review: (#1) While the shadows reflected in the pool’s surface is at least interesting, nothing else about the design is as it gives the viewer the setting without context.
(#2) A far more appealing setting than the prior, but it lacks a naturalistic appeal and with so much empty space left behind, it feels a shade dull as well.
Trailer Rating: C / C / B

Review: (#1) A wholly confusing effort, the viewer is not led to believe this is a natural sequel follow up to Knives Out, but it looks a lot more like a Most Dangerous Game rip-off than a genuine mystery comedy.
(#2) We get a small number of details about the film’s plot, but it’s so cagey about the remaining ideas that it feels like the film isn’t trying very hard to appeal even to fans of the original film.
(#3) Now that we finally get a glimpse at the mystery itself, things look a lot more interesting. The jab at Clue bothers me, but I find it interesting that the detective here can’t find a way to deduce that game. Regardless, there are enough moments in the trailer that pique the viewer’s interest without a cohesion that would generate excitement.
Oscar Prospects:
Knives Out earned Rian Johnson and undeserved Oscar nomination. Lightning won’t strike twice.
