Review: (#1) There’s something wicked on the horizon, but we’re not in the city anymore. Fans might be tempted, but who knows for sure.
(#2) Seldom used color palettes often make for more eye-catching designs and this one is one of them. (#3) Similar to the last design in terms of colors, but with a few more details that will catch the eyes of Ghostbusters fans. (#4) The colors are less inspired here, but there is at least one nice callback in use. (#5) Lots of solid color use, a balanced approach and quite a few background elements that make the design feel a lot more life-infused than similar designs with less.
(#6) Nothing very interesting to see here. Taking a notable drop in overall creative energy, this new poster is indistinct and tries too hard to look like a few of the others that have come out so far.
Trailer Rating: C+ / A- / B+ / B-

Review: (#1) Taking the ghost busting out of the big city and into the countryside seems like a poor decision. Not giving the audience an idea of what’s actually going on is a poor decision. Ignoring all that happened in the female-led Ghostbusters is also a poor decision. It will partly excite fans, but not well enough as yet.
(#2) As much as I enjoy the all-female Ghostbusters movie from a few years ago, I must admit this new trailer for the sequel to the original films is absolutely smashing. It takes enough cues from the original film to be appealing and throws in some unique and interesting characters, giving us an idea of the film’s core plot as well as its potential to please the fans who were unnecessarily cruel to the first film.
(#3) While not an improvement over the prior effort, this third trailer does a fine job exciting the viewer for what is to come by throwing in even more references to the original picture.
(#4) Taking the better designed prior trailers and cutting it down into a shorter, less interesting preview with just enough fan service to be appealing. It’s a let down after the prior efforts.
Oscar Prospects:
The original film didn’t have a lot of Oscar success, nor do I think the sequel will.
