Review: (#1) This is a simplistic and only limited humorous concept. It isn’t likely to pique much interest. (#2) A lot more detail, which plays into Ryan Reynolds’ general comic demeanor, though it isn’t certain if it will appeal to anyone who hasn’t seen the trailer.

(#3) This style has continued unabated for a year and it remains intriguing and visually striking. (#4) While the amount of detail on display is better than a lot of designs, the details don’t seem nearly as important as they need to.

(#5) A lot of rich details here and while it’s a bit cartoonish in some aspects, it’s still a nicely detailed affair. (#6) This ramshackle effort tries to pull together many elements without being interesting.

(#7-#12) This series of character posters have unique details, but all feel rather forced. (#13) A nicely done IMAX design with lots of embellished details and surprisingly effective structure, though some of the figures don’t quite look like their source figures. (#14) An interesting situational design that tells a lot about the film without feeling organically placed.

Trailer Rating: B+ / B / B-

Review: (#1) The concept is original, though the trailer takes too much time getting the audience to the point where it understands what’s going on. This also looks like a PG-13 version of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool film, which might suggest that series is actually dead.

(#2) While the new trailer gives the audience a lot more details, it somehow manages to remove some of the specialness the first trailer presented. While it doesn’t look entirely rote, a lot of the elements in this trailer make it feel like it could certainly devolve into unoriginal territory.

(#3) Perhaps it’s the length of time removed from the first trailer release (a year and a half ago), but the film seems to be losing its appeal with each new trailer. While there are certain elements that make this look like it might be fun, it’s probably not sufficient.

Oscar Prospects:

Like so many other summer blockbusters, its chances are in the sound and visual effects fields, but likely nowhere else.
