Review: (#1) This image has always appeared to me to be this soldier making love to his gun. The trailer doesn’t entirely disabuse me of that notion, though whether it’s the best of advertising tools for the film is a question that’s probably best answered “no.” (#2) This looks more like something that would accompany a superhero film than an Israeli drama. Either that or a design for a war film, which this somewhat is.
Trailer Rating: B

Review: The trailer is odd enough that it could pick up some viewers as a result, but while the film does look like something Federico Fellini might have dreamed up, it doesn’t have feel quite interesting enough.
Oscar Prospects:
It was submitted for Best Foreign Language Film and made the shortlist, but was not nominated, so its Oscar chances are pretty much done.
