Review: A stunning poster design that has a lot of visual flair, political zest, and metaphorical excitement.

Review: Michael Moore is a provocateur. He likes to incite and entice. Yet, this trailer doesn’t quite do enough of either. It definitely plays like an anti-Trump screed and that’s not going to draw much of an audience. The focus on the Flint water crisis might have been interesting, but it feels like a footnote here.
Oscar Prospects:
By the time Fahrenheit 9/11 came out, Michael Moore was fairly high on his prospects considering the popularity of Bowling for Columbine and the box office success of Fahrenheit 9/11. His hubris dictated that rather than submitting for Best Documentary Feature, he took his chances at a Best Picture nomination. It didn’t happen. Since then, his documentaries have been largely ignored by the Academy, possibly due to his stunt during his Bowling win (calling all the winners on the stage in a show of solidarity, but discussing his opposition to the Iraq War, which had just begun). Ultimately, this highly charged political documentary isn’t likely to earn an Oscar nomination, the Academy largely wanting to avoid such things.
