Synopsis:
From IMDb: “When a structural-security authority finds himself set up and incarcerated in the world’s most secret and secure prison, he has to use his skills to escape with help from the inside.”
Poster: C / D+ / C+ / B
Review: If you watch the trailer, the design makes a lot more sense than as a separated element used on the poster design, which is one of the reasons the first poster doesn’t work that well. The second is far worse, using similar elements, but having both actors pose with guns and the added insult of having Schwarzeneggar’s big ole name off centered and disjointed from Stalone’s.
With the third design, they get a little more creative using the stars’ faces to create a visual draw to the image in the background. It isn’t a particularly superb background, but it’s better than the prior incarnation. Then the fourth design arrives and while it’s a lot less detailed than the previous, the vertigo cascade of imagery behind the actors makes for a compelling visual flourish even if it doesn’t exactly jive with the film.

Review: Only the man who designed it can escape from it? Sylvester Stallone goes into one of his own prisons to prove it is inescapable for the master prison escape artist. Add in Arnold Schwarzeneggar and we have another unoriginal attempt to sell these two aging action stars without a fun framework to bolster them.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
