Review: (#1) I’m uncertain what the purpose of the portrait background is, but it works suitably well with the colors of the foreground.

(#2) It’s the first design with more characters, Emma’s two suitors. It doesn’t tell us anything new nor does it provide anything more interesting.

(#3-#8) This series of character posters, while using the prior templates for a backdrop, the end result isn’t very interesting as they aren’t terribly varied.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: There are elements to the trailer that have a snappy, snarky humor to them, but other parts feel haphazardly flung together.

Oscar Prospects:

Emma is an adaptation that tends to bring Oscar consideration. This film’s problem is that it’s releasing far too early in the year, which means it could easily be forgotten by year’s end.
