Review: (#1) When you’re talking about Paul Verhoeven, the cat may end up being symbolic. However, that isn’t something most viewers will see or expect or immediately suspect. (#2) The design is poorly PhotoShopped, but is much better at evoking the film’s premise than the other design.

Review: The trailer starts off slow, but builds to a compelling finish, creating an environment that looks unconventional within a very conventional milieu. That alone should help give it a chance with fans of French cinema.
Oscar Prospects:
There’s some chatter that Isabelle Huppert could be on the shortlist for consideration. Support from critics will certainly help, but there are no guarantees with the Oscars, especially with foreign-language actresses.
