Review: Capturing the horror of the zombies on a cracked video camera may seem a bit obvious, but it works quite well in the context of the film. Everything is nicely laid out so as to maximize interest while avoiding the inherent clutter in other films.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: THe trailer, taking a bit of a hint from the success of Cloverfield has decided to focus on the plot of the film, mainly the documentarian nature of the new plague of zombies. It’s not particularly effective, but at least it’s interesting enough to entice zombie fans (largely the Romero Base) and maybe a few fans of Cloverfield to the theaters.

Oscar Prospects:

George A. Romero’s never been an Academy favorite. It’s doubtful his films will get recognized, but maybe someday he can get an honorary award for his dedication to the zombie genre and his general lack of “selling out”.
