Review: An improvement over the trailer, the poster is at least interesting to look at, an homage to a style seldom used since its heyday. However, there’s still nothing encouraging those fans of the original to put down more money for an actioned-up remake.

Review: While Death Race 2000 was hardly a great film, it has a kitschy pop culture significance to my childhood and to see it stripped down, re-worked and re-fashioned for an untalented actor like Jason Statham is very disheartening. It’s almost as if they took a cue from the entire revamp of April Fool’s Day and decided the original wasn’t good enough (even though it was) and that modern audiences wouldn’t enjoy themselves if they didn’t shake it up. The trailer only proves the film isn’t worth the time or the money.

Oscar Prospects:

I’ll eat my tires if this film earns any Academy recognition.
